The Mississippi crocodilian Saturn, has died yesterday morning, after lived a life of more than 8 decades, as estimated. “He was eighty four years old – an awfully honorable age,” the zoo said.

After being born in United States, He was precocious to the Berlin zoological garden in 1936. He survived the bombing of the zoo in 1943.

Three years later, British troops found him and gave him to the Soviet Union. The way he spent his intermediate years has always been a mystery. However, from July 1946 the Saturn became popular in Moscow.

“The Moscow zoo has had the respect of keeping Saturn for seventy four years,” the zoo said in a statement.

The zoo reported that Saturn knew his caretakers and was fond of massaging with a brush.

Mississippi alligators sometimes lived in the woods for 30-50 years. This alligator may be the known oldest alligator in the world. But, it’s impossible to mention exactly since another male alligator named Muja at the national capital zoo of Serbia is eighty years old, and still alive.

But it’s doubtful whether any alligator could compete with Saturn and have fame relating their memoirs.

The most striking and mind blowing fact is that the rumor of Saturn is coincided with world’s legendary Adolf Hitler, who said to be had belonged to Hitler’s personal collection; which is false.

“As soon as the animal arrived, the fairytale appeared that it was supposedly in Hitler’s collection, not in the Berlin zoo,” reports the Interfax press association. However it’s uncertain, how the rumor started. The Moscow zoo rejected such reports, stating that animals are “not involved in politics and aren’t accountable for human sins.”

The survival of Saturn in 1943 bomb, will never be explained. In 1945, at the tip of the end of the war, Berlin, the capital of Nazi Germany, was severely bombed and damaged by Allied forces.

The So-called Battle of Berlin began in Nov 1943, and on the night of Nov 22-23, the city’s zoo was severely damaged, including the Tiergarten district.

Thousands of individuals were killed or wounded and the animals at the zoo were also killed. The aquarium building of the zoo was hit in account of a bomb. As stated in a one report, passengers have seen the bodies of four crocodiles thrown into the road by the allied explosive forces.

Somehow Saturn survived of the tragic times, and lived for 3 years in an exceedingly war-torn town.

Unfortunately this Mississippi Saturn has left the world yesterday morning, after living a glorious life while keeping its tragic memories in the animal lovers’ hearts. It is reported that, he will currently be stuffed and exhibited in the Museum of Biology in Moscow; by the name of Charles Darwin. Let’s hope that he will be celebrated by the world as the largest and long lived alligator lived in the world until 2020, while surviving a severe war; not as accountable as a part of a human sin. It is an animal after all.
